Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
The AI Brand Kits — Extract Brand KitChrome extension ("the Extension") is published by AI Brand Kits. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses and how it is used.
Summary
The Extension runs entirely in your browser. Brand kit extraction happens locally on the page you are viewing. We do not collect, store, or transmit extracted brand data to our servers.
Data the Extension accesses
When you click the Extension icon, it reads the active tab to:
- Parse CSS custom properties and stylesheet rules on the page
- Read computed font and color styles from DOM elements
- Generate DESIGN.md, CSS, JSON, and prompt text for you to copy
This access only occurs when you explicitly open the Extension popup. We do not scan pages in the background.
Data we do not collect
- Extracted brand kits, colors, or fonts
- Browsing history or URLs you visit
- Personal information or account data
- Analytics or tracking data from the Extension
Permissions explained
- activeTab — Grants temporary access to the current tab only when you click the extension icon. This is how we read styles on the page you are viewing. We do not request broad host permissions.
- scripting — Injects the local scanner script into the active tab (on your click) to extract fonts and colors. All code is bundled in the extension.
Third-party services
If you click the link to aibrandkits.com inside the Extension, you leave the Extension and our website privacy practices apply to that visit. The Extension itself does not embed third-party trackers.
Data storage
The Extension does not persist extracted data. Copied exports go to your clipboard under your control. Chrome may store Extension preferences locally per Chrome's default behavior.
Children
The Extension is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
